Poetry · Self-Awareness

A quiet poem about the one call we never make — to ourselves.

— A note from Ink & Ideas

Today, I had a strange experience,

I dialed my own number,

And a voice replied,

In that moment, I understood,

To meet others, everyone is ready,

But to meet yourself,

All lines are busy.

No one truly pauses for you,

Because everyone is occupied

Within themselves.

And then it became clear,

There is only one principle of life:

When you fall,

No one comes running.

You learn to rise,

You learn to stand,

You learn to take care of yourself.

Writing
This story is deeply touching because it speaks about love in its purest and most genuine form — a love built on patience, understanding, respect, and emotional presence. What makes it beautiful is not just the journey across borders between India and Pakistan, but the way two people chose each other despite differences in culture, distance, and uncertainty.
The line “A woman is like a flower, cherish her” is expressed here with sincerity and maturity. The author reminds us that real relationships are not sustained by grand gestures alone, but by everyday kindness, support, and the effort to make one another feel safe and valued.
What stands out most is the emotional honesty of the piece. It feels real, personal, and relatable. The story carries warmth, gratitude, and quiet strength — qualities that make readers reflect on the meaning of true companionship.
A beautifully written reminder that love grows strongest where there is respect, understanding, and consistent care. ❤️
